The Cyclamen — reflexed petals and nodding heads. It’s such a magical combination, and N. Lemon Silk is one of the best.

A reverse-bicolor… rare in Cyclamineus. Just over a dozen such varieties exist, with only a handful available at all. But Lemon Silk has achieved stardom, and is occasionally offered in major catalogs.

The droopiest of droopy heads… second only to its father, N. cyclamineus. The blossoms point almost straight down, and grow in thick masses.

Layers of color… yellow, white, and dark green. And I can’t get over those stovepipe cups!

Lemon Silk is a Grant E. Mitsch flower, in collaboration with his daughter, Mrs. Elise Havens. Other Mitsch introductions include Peripheral Pink, Euphonic Grace, and Whetstone.

There aren’t many choices in this form and color combination, and it makes astonishing clumps — Lemon Silk!
