I have several pink doubles. Each is slightly different than the others, and offers unique properties. All make a welcome contribution, but if I had to choose one to call a favorite, it would have to be… N. Delnashaugh!
It’s magnificent… an explosion of white and pink. And that pink is really pink… beyond coral and salmon. Sometimes the outer petals are accented with green shading, a characteristic I typically regard as a negative. But in this case, it adds rather than detracts.
Delnashaugh is one of the top cultivars started by John S.B. Lea in England. Aberfoyle, Bunclody, and York Minster are some of his others.
It multiplies quickly, and makes the most unbelievable woodland bouquets. And — these stems won’t break. It’s everything one could want in a pink double — Delnashaugh!
