A white butterfly - N. Cassata.

Every enthusiast needs a collection of butterfly daffodils. N. Cassata is one of the finest.

It transitions… like no other. It might be different each day you look at it. These pictures show Cassata at different stages.

When it first opens, the corona is yellow. But quickly the color begins to fade, starting with the center. After a few days, Cassata turns ivory white — a complete transformation.

Mr. J. Gerritsen raised this flower. He registered 128 split-cups, which were his specialty. Other examples include Tiritomba, Cum Laude, Vanilla Peach, and Tricollet.

A few bulbs planted together form dense, fabulous clumps in a short time.

There is no need to point these out to guests… they’ll point them out to you!
